One marked vehicle was tasked with patrolling the area along the surf coast between nine and 11.30 am, picking up an amount of infringements.

First Constable Chris Buckley said detected speeds ranged from 16 to 25 km/h over the posted limit.

"It is hard (For Emergency Services) to watch (Fatalities) when we know how much work we've put into the Surf Coast Colac Area - in terms of Enforcement over the past 12 months," First Constable Buckley said.

"One marked vehicle was tasked Road Safety enforcement from 09.00 AM to 11.30 AM yesterday and picked up fourteen speeding infringements," he said.

"Our Communities should expect a significant focus on Road Safety for the Deans Marsh and Surf Coast Colac areas for the remainder of 2021 and beyond."
