Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad have arrested Brodie Cooper following a shooting in Melton South last month.
A warrant was issued for the 28-year-old’s arrest in relation to the shooting and he was believed to have gone to ground in western Victoria.
Police were called to a property on Moss Street in Melton South about 10am on May 23, following a dispute where threats were made and a firearm was discharged.
A 47-year-old Melton South man and a 43-year-old Melton South woman who were present at the time were not injured.
It’s believed all parties were known to each other.
Detectives from the Armed Crime Squad arrested Cooper in Ballarat on Wednesday night.
Police say Armed Crime Squad detectives, with the assistance of the Special Operation Group, executed a search warrant at an address on Windermere Street and arrested Cooper at the scene.
A statement from Police says he was taken to hospital under police guard for injuries he sustained which were unrelated to his arrest.
