Member for Polwarth Richard Riordan says the partial fix is a start but more needs to be done.
Mr Riordan says the Minister for Emergency Services Lisa Neville and Emergency Management Victoria's Andrew Crisp will be speaking today about where the money is for the fire tower.
"You know there's a lot of questions to ask them about where the moneys going and this, that an the other but absolutely for our part of the world very keen to know where the money is for the fire tower," he said.
"They tell me there's been a bit of a reprieve but I don't need tell you what's the point of a fire tower if you can't go up on it on a windy day."
"What they need is a fire tower that someone can go up and man on those big hot northerly, gusty days when our district is most at risk."
"So we're going to keep pushing on that, it's got to get sorted and people in the whole Colac Otway Shire need to know that the tower's up there and running."
