Lorne Station Manager Sergeant John Parish said, "With the influx of 80 odd thousand people to the Surf Coast Police Service Area - we are seeing an increase in valuables being stolen from our Caravan parks - particularly Lorne and Anglesea."

"What we know is that a group of four people aged 18 to 21 appear responsible and are stealing from unlocked cars, caravans and things of value left under annexes."

Sergeant Paris said, "What we need is information . . people to call 000 when they see something not right. . . See people loitering or when their gut feel says, "Something's up here."

"We are working closely with park managers, canvassing CCTV and believe those responsible are a very small percentage of those coming to the Surf Coast."

Sergeant Parish said, "Lets work together to identify these people who clearly are very self entitled."
