Two work sites in Lorne shut down
The Victorian Building Authority has shut down two potentially unsafe work sites in Lorne.
A 'Direction to Fix' order has been issued and the VBA will monitor the two sites to ensure the repair work is completed.
At one construction site a three metre hole had been dug without evidence of stabilisation earthworks.
While at another site, a four metre deep hole had been dug without the appropriate reinforcement in the footings.
The VBA Inspector was concerned it could lead to the side wall collapsing.
The Municipal Building Surveyor may issue the builder with an Emergency Order to make the site safe.
