How will the Dolphins go in 2017?
The Dolphins are right back in the premiership frame after a successful season last year, they have been able to build up their list this pre-season by adding some exciting young recruits and also welcome back some friendly faces.
On paper Lorne's list is one of the strongest in league, They have multiple ruck options, a great midfield depth,a unpredictable forward line with multiple key targets and a rock solid defense. They welcome back the Smartt brothers to the club, both after successful GFL careers should have an imitate impact to the side.
In: Kane Smartt (Colac Tigers) Sean Smartt (Colac Tigers) Sean Holroyd (St Joseph's) Thomas King (Torquay) Stephen Heppel (North Launceston), Jack Scarlett (St Joseph’s) Chris Mihicinac (St Joseph’s) Lochie Donne (South Barwon)
Out: Dan Roy (Darley) Ryan Mcauliffe (Portarlington) Jared Matheson (Thomson) Anthony Close
The Key - Sam Stavenuiter - A huge barometer for the Dolphins who can play a key position at either end of the ground. It's his second year in charge and after 19 games and 28 goals last season he will be keen to build on that this year.
In for a big year - Kane Smartt - Won the Colac Tigers best and fairest last season and will be keen to continue that form returning to the Dolphins this season.
Keep an eye on - Lochie Donne - His clearance has been lodged so hopefully Lochie decides to play for the Dolphins this season. He will add to their already impressive ruck options.
Prediction: 3rd (13-16 wins)
