How will the Bombers go in 2017?
Irrewarra-Beeac look set to climb back up the ladder in 2017 after a lean season last year, newly appointed coach Jason Cartwright has the place a buzz again with the Bombers aiming to reach the heights of what they were able to achieve in 2015.
Despite a disappointing year last season, the Bombers were able to blood a lot of promising juniors into the senior ranks which has helped them grow the depth of their list with players returning from injuries, they have added Joel Menzies and Dillyn Fedley to their line up and also welcome back the Flanigan brothers.
Their list looks a lot stronger than their Grand Final year in 2015 and if they can avoid a heavy injury toll there is no reason why the Bombers can not push for a top three spot.
They have a good balance of experience players and youth which makes them a huge threat this season. Their midfield depth is about as good as any side in the comp and they have multiple options going forward.
In: Joel Menzies (Irrewarra-Beeac) Dillyn Fedley (Colac Tigers) Zac Hammond (South Colac)
Out: Sam Barrow (Colac Tigers)
The Key - Thomas Miller - Booted 21 goals last season by playing forward/Ruck role teaming up with Jaden Angus, He became a key part of Irrewarra-Beeac's successful run to the Grand Final in 2015. If Tom can fire up forward this season it will go a long way to helping them have a successful season.
In for a big year - Luke Garner - Lightly framed, but he goes in hard for the footy and always puts his body on the line. Played really well in the second half of last season and no doubt will be keen to continue on his form.
Keep an eye on- Gabriel Spokes - Played every game last season in his first year playing senior footy. A former Capitan of the under 17's he will be one to watch out for this season.
Prediction: 2nd (13-16 wins)
