Burns continue in Gellibrand region
Another a fuel reduction burn has been carried out by Forest Fire Management Victoria (FFMV) crews in the Great Otway National Park.
The 304 hectare burn was ignited yesterday morning south west of Gellibrand, along Cricket Pitch Road.
Burns Controller David Rourke says it was a straight forward operation and any follow up work will be completed today.
"This one is a much more traditional planned burn, certainly large in size but the complexities are less than what we dealt with in the Big Hill burn, near Lorne."
FFMV has ignited a second 151 ha burn today at Rifle Range Track, 2km South West of Gellibrand.
